FluentBoo learning guide
How to build vocabulary from words you actually meet
FluentBoo is a vocabulary builder for the words you find while reading, watching, and using other apps. Start with a few useful words from your own day, then practice recalling and using them.
Start with a situation, not a giant word list
Choose something you already enjoy: a short article, a recipe, a video caption, or a page of a book. Save three to five unfamiliar words that stop you from understanding the meaning. Prioritize words you expect to meet again.
Save the sentence with the word
A dictionary meaning alone can miss the point. Keep the original sentence, note which meaning applies, and add one example about your own life. For “make an appointment,” practice the whole phrase rather than studying “appointment” in isolation.
Turn recognition into recall
Look at the meaning and try to produce the word before revealing it. Then reverse the direction: read the word and explain it. A card you recognize immediately is not always a word you can use in a conversation.
Review before adding more
Use short review sessions instead of repeatedly reading the whole list. When a word is difficult, simplify the card or add clearer context. If your review queue feels overwhelming, reduce new additions before abandoning the routine.
Try this five-minute practice loop
Minute 1: choose three words from something you read today. Minutes 2–3: save each word with its sentence and a meaning you understand. Minute 4: recall the words without looking. Minute 5: write one short sentence using a word from yesterday.
FluentBoo brings capture, flashcard practice, and AI explanations into one app. Check AI explanations against a reliable dictionary or teacher when the nuance matters. Feature limits vary by plan.
Common questions
Can a vocabulary app replace a language course?
A vocabulary app can support a course, reading, or conversation practice. Vocabulary review alone does not cover every skill needed to learn a language.
